10 June Holyhead to Abersoch

Hi folks, back on with the blog after a couple of days off.  It's a bit hard to get excited about fog and more motoring...us experiencing it and you reading about it!
After a short stay in Holyhead marina and being charged £37 for only a few hours stay (rip off, I think) we headed off towards Abersoch.
Quite as lonely journey as there were no dolphins sighted and just one seal that showed an interest in our passage.
We headed around the Lleyn Peninsula and towards the beautiful beaches of Abersoch.
We arrived at 16.45 which was great for us as it meant we could have a beer or two and relax before showering to meet the locals at the South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club on whose mooring buoy we had hitched our lines to.
For your information, arriving at Abersoch gave us a total sailing distance of 1365 nautical miles.
We were greeted at the bar by the Commodore of the club, which threw me completely, as I wasn't dressed for royalty and didn't know whether I should be curtseying and tugging my forelock, but Peter proved to be totally warm and welcoming and just happy to see new visitors and hear all about our boat.
The club is amazing as it's right on the headland and covers 3 storeys with a great restaurant on the top with fantastic views.

We enjoyed a super meal of seabass and king prawns and then headed off to our cabin having decided that as the weather was not going to change, we would stay here for another day.
